Engineering/Physics Internship – Signal Processing
Lithe Technology LLC of Tucson AZ is looking to hire a student for a paid internship during Winter break, with the possibility to renew for a pastime position during the spring semester. This individual should have completed coursework in signal processing and linear systems. This job does not require industry experience, and we are open to applications from any field of study (although engineering and physics students are the most likely candidates to have the suitable background). The selected intern will work on a specific project to develop prediction models for temperature correction. Applicants must be available to work fulltime (40 hours/week) during the winter break (approx. Dec 15-Jan 9, except the usual vacation days). We are happy to consider either undergraduates or graduate students with the required qualifications. One essential trait for all interns is a desire to learn. Lithe staff will provide guidance and direction, but interns must be able to work on their own. If you wish to tackle real-world problems and strengthen your technical capabilities, please consider applying.
Lithe Technology is a local high-tech company that has been in business for 6 years. Lithe collaborates on a wide-range of technical programs including the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and with Steward Observatory at the University of Arizona. Also, Lithe is a contributor to an R&D project developing practical instruments based on laser cooling and quantum entanglement. Unlike many internships, we are looking for individuals that want to dive into serious technical work on day one. Lithe believes the only way to learn engineering is to do engineering.
Compensation is competitive and depends on level of experience. This is a limited-term position with no benefits. If the candidate shows promise, the position may be extended as a part-time internship for the spring semester. Work will be performed at the Lithe Technology office, which is located 4 miles north of campus. Applications must provide their own transportation.
